LEED Home Renovation

This residential renovation was the first LEED Certified single family home in New York City. An extensive renovation completely transformed this 1939 Colonial into a groundbreaking new home. The contemporary design uses numerous features to promote energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. Natural ventilation and daylighting are achieved through a central atrium stair core are a feature of this NYYSERDA Energy Star Certified Home. Much of the house is clad with natural stone quarried on-site with sustainable cedar covering the rest. Environmental responsibility was further achieved through the use of FSC Certified and Recovered Hardwoods, low VOC finishes and materials, efficient lighting, fixtures, insulation and mechanical systems.
